Anyone who has split their sides laughing at CBBC's hit television series 'Horrible Histories' now has the chance to see and hear the cast perform some of the most popular songs from the show in our Free Family Prom. (Note: at 2pm, 3pm and 5.45pm there are Proms Plus events at the Royal College of Music and the Royal Albert Hall. At 2pm spectators are invited to the Royal College of Music to create their own musical journey through time and space with the Family Orchestra, just like the musicians performing in the Horrible Histories Prom. At the same time, Ian McMillan, poet and presenter of BBC Radio 3's The Verb, hosts afternoon workshops at the Royal Albert Hall, for parents and children to write a poem inspired by a piece of music in this year's Proms. Then at 5.45pm the pianist Stephen Hough begins a new four-part series of events at the Royal College of Music in which leading musicians from this year's Proms season discuss their favourite works of fiction and poetry - and introduce readings. Ian McMillan presents.)
