The Britten Sinfonia, directed from the violin by Jacqueline Shave, and the tenor Roderick Williams perform Schubert's 6 German Dances, D 820, orch Webern; Webern's Five Movements, Op 5 (arr for string orchestra); Schubert's 'Tränenregen' (from 'Die schöne Müllerin') arr Webern for voice and orchestra; Schubert's 'Der Wegweiser' (from 'Winterreise') arr Webern for voice and orchestra; Schubert's 'Du bist die Ruh', D 776, arr Webern for voice and orchestra; Schubert's 'Ihr Bild' (from 'Schwanengesang'), arr Webern for voice and orchestra; Schubert's 'Romance' (from 'Rosamunde'), arr Webern for voice and orchestra; Mahler's 'Ich atmet' einem linden Duft' (from 'Rückert-Lieder'); 'Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen' (from 'Rückert-Lieder'); 'Blicke mir nicht in die Lieder' (from 'Rückert-Lieder'); 'Liebst du um Schonheit' (from 'Rückert-Lieder'); and Schubert's Symphony No 5 in B flat. (Note: tenor Mark Padmore has withdrawn from this performance.)
