The German composer Heiner Goebbels, known for his compositions for ensembles and large orchestras, gives a musical response to Joseph Conrad's 1890 journal 'Up-River Book'. He is joined by Senegalese Griots Sira and Boubakar Djebaté (voice and kora), the French musician Xavier Garcia, electronics, and the actor André Wilms. (There is a live relay of the performance from A Room for London - the tiny boat-like venue atop the Southbank Centre - on a big screen in the foyer of QEH.)
