Arty, grungy and unexpectedly charismatic, this amalgam of two workaday wholesale shops (hence the name) continues to thrive amid the Shoreditch hubbub.
Surrounded by bits and pieces from what looks like the film set to a German Expressionist classic of early cinema, creative types gather on tatty sofas to swig bottles of Quilmes or Liberty Ale and talk concepts. Art exhibitions play as much of a role in proceedings as the well-chosen if self-consciously edgy background music.
Standard wines start at £15 a bottle; there are few surprises in the cocktail selection. Staff suffer from a reputation of being more interested in posing than pouring, but there were no complaints on our most recent visit.
And no complaints about the pizzas, dispatched from the adjoining Due Sardi, either.
