For The Love Of Mic

A rap night with a sense of fun. Expect everything from Mos Def to Betty Boo as DJs Lexicon and Goldbars play a music policy of 'If there's a rap on it, we'll play it'. Think party hip hop, G-funk, early '90s rave, R&B, garage, grime and loads of pop featuring tenuous cameos by MCs with Hennessy bills to pay.

Friends, this is a sad, sad occasion. It pains us to write it, but this will be the last ever For The Love Of Mic. Yes, the rap party with a superbly silly sense of fun is coming to an end. But hold back those tears for the moment, as the crew are going out with a bang and a giveaway bigger than Kanye's ego. As well as the usual awesome mix of hip hop, grime, garage, R&B, Afrobeat and other dancefloor treats, the FTLOM gang are, in effect, hosting their very own hip hop closing down sale. Giveaways on the night will include a £100 bar tab (cha-ching), the hip hop photobooth and props, rapper masks and – wait for it – the chance to take home Beyoncé (who may or may not be made of cardboard. To clarify, this 'Beyoncé' will definitely be made of cardboard). So, go and show your love for the night in the best possible way: by getting on the mic. So long, FTLOM, it's been ridiculously fun.
