Noise of Art's Wicker Man Disco Inferno

It's been 40 years since Edward Woodward's policeman was condemned to a fiery and terrifying finale at the climax of cult horror 'The Wicker Man'. Marking the film's anniversary is this ace-looking night as part of Elefest, Elephant and Castle's annual arts and community festival and hosted by electronic oddities crew Noise of Art. It's a combination of music, film, art and performance, and features former Hacienda and Bugged Out! resident Justin Robertson spinning glitchy funk and twisted disco-house, Matt Black of seminal Ninja Tune beatmakers and innovators Coldcut, and Noise of Art founder Ben Osborne, from who you can expect all manner of weird dancefloor gems. There's also a very special thespy guest in the form of Nathaniel Parker – him off TV, in programmes including 'The Inspector Lynley Mysteries' and 'Merlin' – who'll be reading passages from David Pinner's novel 'The Ritual', the book that inspired 'The Wicker Man'. Very cool stuff, the lot, just make sure you politely but firmly refuse if someone with a flaming torch offers you a turn sitting in the giant wicker sculpture they've just crafted.
