Random Magic May Day Bank Holiday: Cajmere Vs. Green Velvet

Time Out says

Now, this is going to be interesting. At first glance it's an awesome club night topped by a back-to-back DJ set from two of classic house music's finest, Cajmere and Green Velvet. Great, but when you consider that both are in fact aliases of the same producer, Chicago's Curtis Jones, you'll be forgiven for thinking that things might get a bit weird. Will Jones favour a series of lightning quick costume changes or go for a split-down-the-middle half-and-half costume while he spins his immense, deep house grooves? Who knows. Listen out for cuts like Cajmere's hypnotic, bubbling house hit 'Percolator' (still rightly rinsed by countless DJs across the land in club sets) and Green Velvet's squelchy synth-funk attack in 'La La Land' and you'll be too busy losing it on the dancefloor to even notice.

If that enticing prospect wasn't enough, you can also hear bassy techno boss Boddika and house aces Luke Solomon and Neville Watson warm-up for Caj/GV in Room One. Room Two two is no less awesome – hosted by Farr Festival and the Random Magic crew, here you can find Hotflush house heroes South London Ordnance, October and the Farr ressies spinning bangin' basement tunes. An essential Bank Holiday bash – grab a ticket or face the prospect of missing out, big-time.
