Kidnapping is definitely not cool. But kidnapping + clubbing? A guaranteed great time for all! To be fair, this is very much voluntary, controlled kidnapping, in an attempt to take immersive clubbing to the next level, we presume. And the whole thing comes courtesy of UK house superstar Hot Since 82.
The premise: you head to a designated London location. You get blindfolded and led onto a bus with blacked-out windows so you can't see what the hell's going on. You get 'taken' (see what they did there?) to a secret location. You get off the bus and go into a secret venue (probably encountering all kinds of subterfuge and weirdness during, and after, the journey). You still don't know where you are. You hopefully have a wild time dancing to bangin' house and deep techno soundtracks blasted out by HS82 and some as-yet unnanounced pals. You then get released, to wander into the morning like a wide-eyed, rave-addled deer.
It's all very high concept. But to be fair it is pretty original (in clubbing terms, at least) and should actually be a lot of fun. It'll certainly be a step or two removed from your average club night, and HS82 is an expert at relaying deep, energetic club sets with enough fire to light up any dancefloor, all of which means that this could be a unique night out – increasingly difficult to find in London's clubbing landscape.
