This review is just for the pizza and drinks FYI. My hubs and I came yesterday (Monday) for the two for £12 pizza special (until 8pm). I didn't realize there was 2-for-1 drinks (has to be the same cocktail) but what a nice surprise!

The pub is appropriately shabby, with dark wood floors and booths with split open seats and sticky tables. Pretty buzzing for a Monday night. I ordered the Parma Violence: gin, violette liquor, lemon juice and gomme and it was smashing. Delicious and potent.

Now the pizza (sigh). I ordered the passion amore: avo, capers, mint and aubergine as the veg pizza option was not part of the two for £12 (boo on them). My hubs got some meat pizza.

They came relatively quickly and looked very nice. Mine had large chunks of avo sprinkled atop. But... Yet AGAIN in London, mediocre pizza itself. The dough base was probably my favourite part as it was thin and just chewy enough. But bland I sauce, bland taste. My husband said his was similar.

I swear pizza in London just sucks compared to NY. All these reviews claiming how good the pizza is are so misinformed.

This is a great little bar just up the road from me in Archway. It has a cool vibe to it, with a real rock n' roll feel and a nice crowd and music that makes you want to move. However it's also not so loud you can't talk, which to me is the perfect combo.

Big booths for groups, a great spacious long bar and good selection of drinks with knowledgeable friendly bar staff plus pizza being served until goodness knows what hour, make this a great place to keep your night out going.....

Check out their website for other events as they host comedy nights, live music and so on. The downstairs area is also a gorgeous space for a private party.

I hired the Aces and Eights downstairs bar for a private party last weekend and had the time of my life! Tim (Bar Manager) and his staff were really helpful on the run up to the party, answering all my questions promptly and offering help and advice when needed.

The downstairs bar has a secret, speakeasy feel to it with gorgeous velvet lamps and quirky mirrors and it's own bar and toilets, so guests needn't venture up stairs unless they want to.

We were given access to the room before the party and free reign to decorate as we liked so we were able to make the event really personal. On the night we had our own bar staff who were on hand to help guests and served drinks with great friendly banter.

We ordered pizzas for our guests which went down a storm, easily some of the best pizza in London.

So if you are looking for a place to host your next party or just drinks and food with friends then look no further than Aces of Eights, an intimate venue with a unique character, friendly staff and a relaxed party atmosphere.

Regular customer for over a year! Really RUDE bar lady (tattoos and acting manager this evening as we were told TIm was unavailable) her attitude was appalling shocked and disappointed as always polite customer! I was told when asked to be served in a calm and polite manner after waiting 20 minutes "No one else is being rude just you I am working on the bar alone you NEED to be patient. I was actually going to serve you next but now hmmmmm" DISGUSTED at the aggressive nature this was said :( I have tweeted and emailed I would appreciate a response as love the bar!!

Excellent pizza and music. Aces and Aces is a rock'n'roll style bar far enough from Camden to keep out the tourists and idiots. It has a late license to boot! It is refreshing to have a late night bar that is not pounding out dance music. Instead the DJs play rock'n'roll favourites. The pizzas are really good and there is a good selection of whiskeys and cocktails. The cocktails do take ages, but they are worth it. I would rather them not be rushed and taste crap. The staff are cool and friendly--much more friendly than at the Intrepid Fox. They are too self important there. They used to do live music on Sundays but that has stopped. I hope they start it again as it was a really nice chilled evening. In summary, a great late-night bar if you like rock music without the pretentious stuff.

Stumbled in this gorgeous looking bar by accident. It is a Rock 'N' Roll/Americana styled bar make no doubt. Seating is mainly made up of booths and the lighting is dark and moody reds. The beer on tap was slightly less authentic and inspiring, but I suspect you are meant to have JD on the rocks here. The Bottle beers do include Goose Island IPA however, which is a taste sensation from Chicago. A small raised stage at the back affords small bands and acoustic acts a place to play, all at an ear shattering volume. Don't go to have a catch up with your best mate on a live music night, but do go here to see acts. Pizza's from a inside vendor are also good.
