Taking the audience on a journey from infancy to his current age, Alexis Dubus enthralled and entertained with his recollections of some very bizarre yet strangely familiar encounters and activities. Flawlessly structured; wittily delivered and punctuated with some rather entertaining images and accents, he took us his own version of The Odyssey from Croydon, right the way down through France and into Spain where he later reached his ultimate nirvana in Nevada at The Burning Man Festival. For those of us who enjoy a good old romp with words, Alexis is quite the wordsmith and he will not disappoint. Sadly, my romp with him was to be thwarted by the love of his life ( a red-head - I could never compete as an un-natural blonde!) whom it seems he was destined to be with. But who would have thought the seedling of love would germinate in Elephant & Castle Bowling Alley? Wonders never cease... Go see him: you won't regret it.

Friendly comic Alexis Dubus (creator of suave French character and 'Live at the Electric' star Marcel Lucont) performs his solo storytelling show 'Cars and Girls' at both the Comedy Café Theatre and Prince of Wales in Brixton. Although this has it's funny moments, it's worth noting this is more of a spoken word piece (expertly delivered) about Dubus's real life experiences travelling the world with various women in trucks and clapped-out vans.
