Upwards of 1,000 people are expected to strip off for this liberating nine-mile cycle past London’s landmarks. The event, which will go ahead whatever the weather, is an annual protest against oil dependency and the culture of cars, as well as a celebration of the human body. It’s ‘as bare as you dare’ – full nudity is optional. If you’re a bit hesitant about taking part you can always take something along that’s easy to throw on when the procession gets held up by traffic, as it inevitably will. The meeting point is the Hyde Park Corner roundabout, near the Wellington Arch (the organisers request that you keep your clothes on until you get there) and the ride ends more or less where it starts. The website has information about discounted bike and skate hire for the event as well as details of World Naked Bike Ride events taking place elsewhere in the UK and body painting tips for anyone who plans to use their body as a blank canvas.
