More than 40 widely varied events make up this community festival taking place in various sites around the borough, including Wandle Triangle, Battersea Park's Pump House Gallery, and a new festival hub at an underused public space near the River Wandle. Highlights include regular events in the Brickbox (www.thebrickbox.co.uk/whats-on.html), which will be free apart from Saturday nights, when entry is £5 for acts including the local poetry collective Dirty Hands. The Shimmy (1pm, May 19), is a day-long event in which a whole host of artists and organisations offer performances, installations, spoken word recitals and sculptures along the riverside between Putney Bridge and Wandsworth Park, plus there are pop-up performances and unexpected installations in the Fire Garden Magic, taking place throughout the festival at Roehampton's Alton Estate.
