Oramics to Electronica: Revealing Histories of Electronic Music

Advertising

Time Out says

The first phase of a display dedicated to the ways in which electronics has altered our sound world features the Oramics Machine, a Heath Robinson-esque device created by Daphne Oram, which was thought long lost. In addition, the display includes archive footage and an interactive app that allows visitors to create music the way Oram planned with her machine. This phase of the exhibition will inspire co-creation projects with audience groups and collaboration with organisations including contemporary arts organisation Sound and Music, alongside Anglia Ruskin University and Goldsmiths College, which will become part of the second phase of the exhibition, due to open in October.
