The capacious, messy 333 was one of the first clubs to colonise this corner of town, and did as much as any venue to put the neighbourhood on London’s nightlife map.

It’s no longer the be-all and end-all of East End clubbing, and the programme in the main room is a little thinner than in previous years. Even so, this three-floored clubbing institution still draws queues for indie-rave mash-ups at weekends.

The basement’s dark and intense, which works well for the dubstep talent on show. Before it was the 333, the site was home to a faintly seamy gay bar called the London Apprentice; a gay night named in its honour is held here every Sunday. Upstairs is the tatty Mother Bar, responsible for countless lost evenings.

There’s no food up there besides the iconic nut machines, but really, if you’d eaten earlier, you probably wouldn’t have wound up there in the first place.

So much fun!!!! Never been anywhere open so late so easy going and so well priced in London.

I went to 333 last weekend for the first time in ages. Whenever I go back I always have an incredible time. There's something about it which I can't put my finger on - it's just inescapably fun. Even my friends who don't like clubbing had an amazing time. It seems to appeal to all groups and different scenes without watering down on quality DJs and cool live bands.
