A Brazilian restaurant cum bar cum club, Favela Chic is inspired by the ten-year old FC in Paris. The tables are huge and canteen-style; the decor is a marvel of objet-trouvés, plants and curios and the ethos is friendly, come-as-you-are, joie de vivre. Eating and drinking (caipirinhas, natch) to the beat is part of the experience. Expect anything from rough baile funk to samba’n’bass, rock classics, MPB Brazilian pop, funky hip hop, from The Clash to Jorge Ben via Missy Elliott from resident DJs Gringo da Parada and Ross Clarke.
