An international line-up of acts at this relaxed Greenwich Village-style hangout for beatniks has included the Coal Porters (the ‘world’s first alt-bluegrass band’) and in summer 2009 the venue staged its third annual Festival of Latin Music. "londons favourite music venue" should have been "london's favourite cultural venue" from day one.
this is overdue chance for time out to correct!!!
Great venue - I really did feel transported to Greenwich Village. I love it as a music fan, going to clubs and listening to music, and I love it as the co-founder of a music charity which presented three launch gigs at the club. The team couldn't have been nicer or more helpful and the vibe on the nights was unbelievable. More power to them!
Great, perfect sized venue, with bottle-conditioned beer, friendly staff, and some of the best folk acts in the country, set up for hearing the music as a priority. I've always left this venue feeling better.
A truly magical space to see live music in an intimate & respectful environment. Run by two ladies who created a space they would enjoy hanging out, this is my favourite, and many other people's too, little place in London.
Nice and intimate (as could be possible with any band and that means the band has every respect from its audience for allowing this "access". Friendly staff and I know at least one lady has worked there for many years, maybe since the inception of the GN. The snacks are very acceptable and appropriate, too. Downside? Well it could be five minutes walk like my nearest music venue! Thanks.
Superb intimate venue - we saw a great concert by the legendary Bonnie Dobson at the Green Note earlier in the year!!
My all-time fave gigging venue. Lovely & intimate, great veggie food and a fantastic bar. I have attended many gigs, both upstairs and down, and I cannot recommend Green Note highly enough. You guys deserve to win this award.
Top class venue with an intimate feel, & with a audience there to listen to the artists playing! love the food too!
This is a magical live music venue with a seemingly inexhaustible range of class lineups, especially bands from the US. The stunning quality of the music never fails and the atmosphere is cosy and friendly.
The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is friendly and intimate, great artists and the prices aren't too expensive.
Fantastic venue: wonderful and wide selection of world and folk music, great atmosphere, tasty bar snacks and yummy cocktails.
Green note is an incredible venue- consistently brilliant musicians in a quirky and stylish space which always has an awesome vibe!! Magical nights aplenty!!
Green Note is an amazing space with great vibes and London's best music lineup. It's a cozy community venue and I consider it my second home in London - can't wait to hang there again!
Played it. Played it. Played it. Played it. Then again. Great folk, great sound, great peeps, great vibe. And there was always parking nearby! Plus Risa is simply charming. Go, go, go...!
It's a great little bar, which supports great independent musicians, and serves food and drink from smaller independent breweries and food makers. They have a nice selection of vegan beer and food too. The great staff make this a very special place.
The green note is a true experience, each event is programmed, promoted and ran properly... So many venues could do with taking advice from these guys! They aim high with who they book and it pays off! Don't let the slightly higher ticket prices scare you off - after all, we want to pay the musicians that we love right?
Atmospheric small club with friendly and knowledgeable staff. An excellent music venue hosting a wide variety of top-class acts.
Great venue, punches above it's weight - It's intimate, yet get's a great slew of underground and overground folk and acoustic artists through the door. Their booker clearly knows what they're doing!
Best live music venue in the world in my humble opinion! It's so sweet being nestled amongst the tables with passionate music lovers in a dimly lit room with the musicians only a few feet away. There's such sultry and intimate feel to the place. Prices are also soooo reasonable, making seeing live music something you can do all the time. Owners are warm and deeply into the music and space they are creating and you feel it.
From the welcome, to the staff, via the food and the audience to the beauty of the music and the chance to support fantastic, talented musicians this IS the place to be. Small, welcoming and respectful audiences make it a delight of a venue. More like this please.
Wonderful performers and an intimate atmosphere that is second to none. Friendly staff and tasty bites will always guarantee a fabulous evening at Green Note
