Time Out says

Beyoncé, Madonna, Jay-Z, Florence And The Machine, Haim, Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding, Iggy Azalea, Laura Pausini, John Legend, Timbaland.

Who run the world? Not girls – at least, not yet. That's the message behind this massive charity concert, with Beyoncé in the headline slot. She's the artistic director of a new organisation called Chime For Change, and one of its co-founders alongside Frida Giannini (the creative director of Gucci) and the actress Salma Hayek-Pinault. Their stated goal is the empowerment of girls and women worldwide, and – lucky us– they're holding their first major fundraising event, 'The Sound of Change Live', in London. As well as a who's-who line-up of pop royalty (both queens and kings), the event will be presented by big names include Jessica Chastain, Zoe Saldana, Freida Pinto, James Franco, Blake Lively and Jada Pinkett-Smith. And Gucci are supporting the concert so that ticket buyers can choose to donate the price of their seat to any of a range of selected projects promoting education, health and justice for women worldwide. It will be, essentially, the feminist Live Aid.
