Nonclassical, the longest running and coolist regular classical club night in the UK, begins a new residency at the Dalson pub venue in East London. Featuring the most adventurous musicians and cuttingedge contemporary repertoire alongside resident DJs spinning a mixture of classical remixes and leftfield electronica.

The first monthly event in the 2013/14 series features Workers Union Ensemble and Kate Symonds-Joy, alongside Nonclassical Resident DJs Nwando and Gabriel Prokofiev.

Dedicated to performing new works, Workers Union Ensemble are a talented and exciting new music ensemble with an interesting line-up of oboe, sax, double bass and percussion, directed by pianist Ben Oliver. They perform very recent works, including a pre-premiere from Joe Cutler, plus performances of recent work by Larry Polansky, Matthew Shlomowitz, Laurence Crane and Ryan Latimer.

Kate Symonds-Joy is an emerging young mezzo-soprano, accompanied by pianist Yshani Perinpanayagamo. She performs Berio's Sequenza III; Berberian’s 'Stripsody' and more, including excerpts from Crumb's 'Apparition No1: The Night in Silence'.
