  • Had a simply fantastic dinner last night- the service was attentive and exemplary- the pizza is great but I get the feeling the pastas and other mains might just be even better! Loved it. Cant wait to go back. The standard is pretty high considering the number of poor quality restaurants in this part of the world. Yes it 'compact' and 'noisy'- but this place is still not yet a victim of its own success....

  • The best Italian cuisine in East London! Chef Tanzanu's Sardinian cuisine is a concentrate of passion for cooking, use of fresh ingredients, and respect for tradition. The outstanding food and buzzing atmosphere makes this restaurant the perfect venue for a meal before a long night in one of Shoreditch's clubs and bars. Best dishes so far are the Tagliere di affettati as starter (mix of Sardinian salami, cheese and crispy bread); Scialatelli alla piscatora and finally Coniglio alla Sarda (special recipes of chef Tanzanu). The wine choice is also up to the food standards; great choice is the OFFIDA PECORINO ‘’LE MERLATTAIE’’ CHIU’ CHIU’ MARCH. The average price per person is £30/35 per person (including wine) which is great for the quality of the food. Looking forward to go back very soon!

  • We had some delicious meals in a lovely atmosphere: The cook is very good and the cooking is really sardinian. Food and ingredients are fresh and first class. We are looking forward to come back to London and have another meal at Amici Miei.

  • Buzzing atmosphere, kind and helpful staff and, most important, excellent food (starter: Gattuccio, main: Gnocchetti costa smeralda, dessert: Profiteroles) This is one of the very few restaurant where I can find not some standard, off the shelf italian dishes, but amazing and refined food. Highly recommended

  • Great pizzas. Authentic food (i'm Italian), friendly staff, nice ambience, warm and nice smelly. Average price but very good quality. Much better than the close Pizza East!

  • Went there last night for the second time and unfortunately it was not good again, the food is totally unseasoned and dry. It should be delicious but sadly isn't. First time i went the past dishes were loads of pasta and no sauce/ nothing else- eg the plate was basically dry pasta and nothing else. I had the free range chicken which was basically a bbq chicken, and the rocket and parmesan salad- again very basic and uninteresting. My partner had the veal which was totally dry and the salad served with her dish was old going brown iceberg lettuce, totally un appetising and very eighties! Might give them one last chance as its so close to where I live but a real shame. Lovely place to sit though and really nicely fitted out, just a damn shame about the food! :-(

  • The ambience was fantastic and extremely appropriate for the location and clientele. The pizza was even better so I would highly recommend it.

  • Sometimes i wonder who they send to review these restaurants for time out! They often seem to give average places 5 stars and then give a great place like this only 2! I have been twice and the food and service are both brilliant. Simple, fresh, traditional Italian food done very well. Highly recommended.

  • Time Out might have visited on an off-night or perhaps, as I increasingly suspect nowadays, don't know what a decent restaurant is. Tasty, authentic and regional pasta dishes with quality ingredients and some of the best pizza in london. Though not on a par with zucca in bermondsey St, this is a very good neighbourhood restaurant that turns out great Italian home-cooking at very reasonable prices, and deserves more than 2 stars, so in the interests of balancing out the score given by the reviewer it gets a full 5 from me.
