The Lavender Hill branch of this mini-chain (the other branch on Chancery Lane offers an express takeaway service) offers modern Thai cuisine with a western twist. There's a wide range of curries, wok and noodle dishes like that trusty favourite, pad Thai, along with char-grilled creations such as 'Weeping Tiger' - sirloin steak flamed with rice wine and served with a spicy lime and chilli sauce.

Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience with this restaurant. We booked a table for 8 through TimeOut but, when we arrived, the table was prepared for 6. It wasn't a problem as there were no other diners (at 8pm on a Saturday evening, which is never a good sign). The service was mixed, with attentive but inexperienced staff; we ordered two different bottles of red wine and we were served two of the same white wine.

Our starters were not as described on the menu, with missing sauces and accompaniments, which we had to ask for. We ordered a variety of main courses with a mixture of success; the best dish was described as "nice enough" and the worst as "like chewing rubber". We complained to manager, who was rude and unhelpful.

The prices were high considering all of the above, especially when, following the meal, 3 of our party of 8 (who all ordered different dishes) were taken ill within a few hours.

With so many food options nearby, there is no reason to go to Bangkok Boulevard.
