This French bistro has been serving Crouch Enders since 2002. It's owned and run by the chef, Lynne Sanders, who has been running it since its inception. There's a classic bistro look to the dining room, and the garden features a trompe-l'œil mural.
Dishes range from small plates of seared chicken livers with red wine sauce and garlic toasts to steak tartare, escargots, pan seared foie gras, duck leg confit and calves liver with devils on horseback, a red wine jus, onion marmalade and potato purée. Desserts include fresh fruit millefeuille, crème brulée and apple tarte-tatin flambéed with calvados.
The wine list is almost exclusively from small French producers, biodynamic and organic.

Now in its 15th year. I was their first customer and even then they had raised the bar in Crouch End. Food is always first class and the wine selection is excellent.
You do excellent french cuisine - the frois grois is superb and the staff are accommodating , helpful and very friendly - customer service is second to non and the chef will always provide food of the highest quality
I have been visiting this restaurant for years, and it never fails to please. Superb French food from a very extensive menu at great prices, both a la carte and from the set menu. The wine list is excellent and chances to sample both food and wines occur at special events. Unobtrusive but attentive service from knowledgeable waiters.
I'm worried about nominating Bistro Aix as it's one of north London's best-kept secrets and everyone will be wanting to go. Superb food, great ambience, good service.
We had our wedding meal here and they couldn't have been more accommodating or helpful. Lovely people and a lovely atmosphere. And the food is pretty good too.
This is THE best restaurant in N.London and offers superb food both as taster menu, lunch or dinner.
Amazing French restaurant .. great food, consistent quality, professional staff, charming decor.. go there!
Been there 4 times and each time near to perfection, ambiance is sooo lovely, small dining rooms and cosy. Service friendly, chatting at the end of meal. Salmon perfect, duck tender, rabbit absolutely. delicious. Great foie gras, royal sea bass. Great for romantic meals or taking parents out without c.London noise/queue/tourists/stressed staff. Our favourite north London local bistro!
Rather average meal for four just before Christmas. Starters were OK but the mains were distinctly average. The pheasant breast was tiny, with a mean poirtion of mash and cabbage and strange aftertaste. The seafood lasagne greasy and the ballotine of rabbit in mustart sauce acceptable but lacking bite. It's a shame their standards seem to have fallen as previous experiences have been much better.
