Sensational Korean cooking in Earlsfield at this branch of the original Cah Chi in Raynes Park.

There’s been no diluting of the fierce authenticity that characterised the first Cah Chi when it opened in Raynes Park in 1995 at this second branch.

Everything we’ve sampled here has been sensational: from the pa jeon, a flour pancake with a filling of spring onions and seafood, to the yuk-hoi dol-sot bap – raw beef, rice and pickles served in a sizzling stone bowl, which cooks the food on contact and creates an appealing rice ‘crust’. Another classic is bulgogi, thin strips of beef marinated in pear juice, seared in front of you and then rolled in a lettuce leaf with spring onion and the Korean ‘miso’ called chang.

Service is smiling and enthusiastic, and you can bring your own wine but not beer.

We had planed Chinese new year family dinner celebration at On The Bab but when they saw us with our two years doughter they refuse the entrance plus it was raining outsude but we had no other options other then look for another place in the area to have dinner. Very disappointed and it was a first place i've seen not allowing kids inside. There webside does not mention that this place is NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY place.

The staff were very welcoming and our evening got off to a good start however. As a large group, we were sat outside in a very hot enclosed space. We decided to opt for the table BBQ. Most dishes came promptly and were cooked infront of us, and then served. Even after asking twice my dish never appeared and when it finally arrived, 20 minutes later, after most of the group were nearly finished, it was not for the BBQ, as stated on the menu, but extremely salty slices of what can only be described as processed meat which I found to be unedible. When I questioned why it was not brought as stated in the menu they shrugged. When I politely complained that it was far too salty to eat, they simply shrugged and walked away. There was no appology. Luckily one of the other people on the table was able to eat it, so I finished the little that was left of his BBQ meat. But I still had to wait a further 5-10 minutes for my rice and vegetables. Again, no appology for the delay. So, I was left eating while the rest of the table were finished. I was not impressed at all with their customer service and the main course was very disappointing. The concept is good, but it failed to deliver and unfortunately this will be my last visits and I would not reccomend it to friends.

This is a really great authentic Korean restaurant. We have been lots of times. Great subtle flavours and textures. Great attention to detail. Lots of Koreans eat there - always a good sign. I am not sure what the 1 star rating below was about. I suspect this was due to expecting something other than Korean food. Possibly expected the kebab house down the way.

Had dinner here last night (Saturday) with my boyfriend. We booked via timeout with no problems. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious, all at a reasonable price with BYO wine! Highly recommended.
