It is always the perfect place for drinks, nibbles or proper dining. Unless you go with a buggy.

Charlotte's is the most Michelin starred type restaurant I know that hasn't yet got a Michelin star. I can't be too long though before it does as its blend of innovative and original menus, cocktails, boutique gins and fine wines is difficult to better. Its also one of the friendliest venues I know and all the staff are enthusiastic and welcoming - I love the place!

The best staff, the best food, awesome atmosphere, great cocktails and an absolute steal of a price. Need I say more?! I've eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world (The Fat Duck, El Bulli, El Celler de Can Roca and others) ... If you factor price and convenience into the reckoning, this place is right up there with my favourites.

Charlotte's W4 is the perfect place for all Gin lovers out there.

Every Monday at 6:30pm you are not only welcomed to try a new Gin, but to meet a representative of each distillery.

It's great to explore the world of Gin in such a great venue - especially as the days  are getting shorter and you are looking for something to cheer you up on a miserable Monday ( we all know, that Monday's aren't fun days) and the staff is really friendly and welcoming.

I attended Gin school yesterday, after a couple of months, to try the Rock Rose Gin.

The Gin has been great (you should try it with burned rosemary as garnish) and the family business behind it has been even more interesting.

Gin school isn't only a way to discover new flavours, but provides a story to tell when introducing your new favourite to friends and family.

Unfortunately I have not yet tried their food, but I'd highly recommend the lentil hummus as a snack, while you wait your turn.

It's always worth checking their website to see what Gin is up next or just pop in and be surprised.

The only Gin Bar in Chiswick! Great coktails and atmosphere in this cosy bar. The restaurant offers a season menu and the chef will surprise you with the food! I like this place for a drink after work at the bar or an intimate diner for two!

A Little Lusciousness

We arrived just after 9 and were greeted by THE friendliest, most helpful waiters and waitresses I've ever come across. They showed us to a table for 2 at the back of the restaurant, under the huge glass skylight that let in the last of the weekend's sunshine. We settled down with the menu, and ordered a "New girlfriend" cocktail for me, which was a delicious combo of Simpsmith vodka, elderflower cordial, rhubarb puree and pink grapefruit. The menu at Charlotte's is small but perfectly and seasonally formed. There are around 6 starters and 8 mains to choose from, as well as nibbles, cured meats and oysters. We had eaten quite a lot at the weekend, so chose a couple of oysters and the gin cured salmon, pickled cucumber and lemon to share for starters. Fresh, plump and tasting perfectly of the sea, they were served with a sharp red wine shallot vinegar. The salmon was incredible. The gin cure was a background flavour to the lemon that now topped the salmon, but it was the texture that really astounded me. It just melted in the mouth, without being slimy or greasy, but it was not dry at all. The pickled cucumber cut through the fats of the fish and was the perfect accompaniment. For mains I chose the butter poached cod with spinach and triple cooked potatoes - it was like a healthy version of fish and chips! The cod was like butter itself, and fell away at the slightest touch of a knife and fork. The spinach was all the greens I needed to go with it, and the triple cooked potatoes were like nuggets of excellent little chips. When I was served the dish the first thing I noticed was a lack of sauce, but it didn't need it all as there was so much moisture from the wonderful cod.

Two words: Gin School.

Okay, maybe a few more words. They do a monthly gin school on the first monday of every month, with a new supplier of mother's ruin each time.

Well worth it to meat other cheap, drunken locals like yourself.

Oh yeah, and the food is also fantastic, but whatever.

visited Charlottes early evening 5pm on Saturday we were the only 4 in the bistro more staff than customers ordered 4 drinks 2 prosecco's 1 cocktail and 1 irish coffee sat at the bar watched 2 barmen make each other cocktails to try, finished drinks asked for bill when presented a "£2 50 " service charged added for "My Convenience " good service should be rewarded but to push 4 drinks over a 2 foot marble worktop and charge £2.50 for this sorry Charlottes you have got it wrong , want to be more busier you should revue your Service Charge policy , you've lost 4 future customers.

I have been here on many occasions and the service, food and atmosphere are always fantastic. This is our favourite place to eat in Chiswick. Take advantage of their early diner meal from 6-7 for 3 courses and an aperitif.
