This site (formerly Poulet Rouge) has now been turned into a branch of Chicken Shop by Soho House. While much of the menu replicates the branches – roast chicken, plus sides, and few desserts – there is also the twist that breakfast and brunch is served from 8am, hence the 'and Egg' part of the name.
Like Poulet Rouge before it the room's a good-looking space, though this time the interior designer has given some attention the (previously thunderously loud) acoustics. Cork celiing and lino floor help make the noilse levels acceptable.
Both chicken and side orders are good, making this in effect a superior version of Nando's for the well-heeled of Balham.
