I love the DDC - I love the Back in 5 mins restaurant, and the lovely Laura and Stuart we met regarding Warehouse Weddings - another original venture of theirs where they find unique spaces and create a completely unique wedding for you, of course with their amazing food.  I can sort of see why people might see them as pretentious and a bit like they can't be bothered, but they weren't like that to us;  remember that they're hugely busy and their food is of a really high quality, so any brusqueness (of which we had none - I'm just referencing an earlier review down there) is just busyness.  Anyhow, the food:  the roast pork and truffled polenta I will remember forever - truly amazing - and the wine pairings delicious - the little amuse bouche were also just gorgeous.  They also served lambs tongue which was disgusting (in fact I didn't even try it because I couldn't bring myself to, but my dining partner said it was great) - i wanted to include it in this review as they're just a little bit different with their menus.  The venue for Back in 5 mins is great fun and very atmospheric and I thought our waitress was absolutely ace.  Thank you! I thought the food, the concept, and the execution were great.  I also checked out the company's pop up restaurant on Brick Lane - Back in 5 Minutes - and thought the food there was just as good.

Tickets are quite pricey, but the food was worth it, and the welcome cocktail was incredible.

GREAT FOOD SHAME ABOUT THE SERVICE The concept of this restaurant should make it great, but unfortunately the attitude of the staff and owner ruin it. The food admittedly was very good but as other reviews say, we were made to feel like an inconvenience rather than paying customers. Having lived in East london for 10 years, this restaurant makes me feel ashamed about where i live & the people who live there, why is it that people feel they need to live up to the reputation of East londonders being pretentious idiots?? A great shame.
