I visited the West Hampstead restaurant a couple of weeks ago with some friends. We were after filling and tasty. After comparing the menus of Guglee and the other Indian restaurant down the road, we decided that 'Modern Indian Cuisine' was indeed what we wanted. And we were everything but disappointed! One of my friend is vegetarian and chose a lovely dal (lentil based dish) while my other friend and I went for the £20 (or £25) menu which included SO MUCH food! For dessert, we all got an Indian ice cream. Mine was rose flavoured and delicious. It was all really original and tasty, we had our bellies exploding by the end of the meal, which was the effect desired. On top of that, the staff was friendly, decoration pleasant and the area is cool to explore. I recommend!

My girlfriend and I were looking for a reasonably-priced dinner after her meeting in the area. I had seen good reviews of Guglee online and I can safely say that the place lived up to expectations. The place was almost full on the Tuesday night that we went, and I can see why! Having never been before, we opted for the 'Mumbai Junction' set menu with wine (3 courses + 2 glasses of wine for £25 each) - everything was delicious, particularly the aloo chaat in the starter (which was served with a tandoori chicken bite, a minty sauce and a garnish of pomegranate salad). The chicken, lamb and lentil curries that followed were very tasty, and the mixed naan breads that came in cute little loaf tins were really, really good: freshly made and just the right level of crispiness! The dessert was flavourful too, and although a small portion, it was pitched just right for the amount of food that preceded it. Staff were friendly, but perhaps not as attentive as they could have been (we were asked how the food was only after we had finished each course. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be hassled, it's just nice to have a check once or twice in case you want to order something else. This was the only (very minor) thing to let them down, but overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the food. Excellent value for money. TL;DR Quality of food was great; excellent value for money; highly recommend the set menus (from £25 each for 3 courses + 2 glasses of wine!)
