New Malden
This may be a tiny, family-run affair, but the attention is in the details – such as the utilitarian blond wood benches and tables with hooks under the chairs to hold bags. Delicious Korean side dishes begin the meal; the kimchi was clearly own-made, and the spiced potato slices were a treat. Most people come for the warming chigae stew, and our soo doo boo version of soft tofu, oysters and an egg in zingy kimchi broth was just the thing for a chilly night. Barbecued short ribs and belly pork came in amazingly large portions. The place was only half full on our weekend visit, but the service was top-notch throughout, with a great deal of kindly Korean hospitality from the owner.

Easily the best Korean restaurant in London! This tiny place is always packed full of people, mostly Korean people. The food is incredible, though they don't offer Korean fried chicken. The Pajeon and a few of the rice cakes are unforgettable. They have a very strange private room in the back, which is more like a portable office with a big strip light - we have rented this for birthdays and despite the oddness of the room still had an incredible time. Also this place is cheap as chips! Take a few people and share food and you will be surprised about how low your bill is . Also it is BYOB.
