I was looking for proper German sausages to eat not only in Christmas and then I luckily discovered Herman Ze German while walking in Embankment one day. These guys make very delicious, gluten-free sausages in 4 different types. I either go for bockwurst (smoky pork) or currywurst but they also have bratwurst (pork and veal), chilli beef (beef and pork), and leberkase (oven baked pork). You can have the sausages on their own, in a freshly baked roll or with healthier chips with no extra fat. Try also the yummy crispy onions! Besides, staff is friendly, prices come reasonable, you can even grab a loyalty card and have your tenth sausage for free as I did recently! It’s open everyday till late as an alternative to bad quality fast food such as the odd kebab van you have to rely on after binge drinking on Saturday nights.

The darn good-value dog. Served in a small baguette, the smooth-middled bockwurst was made from smoked pork, and had a firm casing giving it plenty of ‘snap’. Good pimped with mild sauerkraut or crisp onions.
