Venue says: "Have you tried our new smoothies with fun names such as the Holborn or Angel! Or how about Shoreditch, where you can make your own!"

A bright, colourful restaurant on High Holborn, specialising in traditional Lebanese and Palestinian dishes.

Dishes range from hot and cold mezze, grills and shawarma wraps to Palestinian salads, sambousek, various fatayer, marinated cutlets of lamb and mousakaat batinjan - a dish of fried aubergines baked with tomato, onion, chickpeas, green chilli and red peppers. Sweet, rich baklava proves popular.

Hiba doesn't serve alcohol but there's certainly plenty of choice when it comes to drinks, from recognisable cans of fizzy stuff to fresh juices, milkshakes and smoothies with London monikers - Maida Vale is strawberry, mango and banana; Chelsea, blueberry and orange. You can also create you own - it's 'Shoreditch', fittingly.

A takeaway option does brisk business at lunchtimes, with local workers grabbing their foil-wrapped bits and bobs to go. There's a delivery facility too, available to quite a few local postcodes.

Love Hiba. Great food, vibe and service. It gets busy at lunch times but this just adds to the atmosphere. I have never found service slow. Personally I love meze bit and pieces, and these are really tasty here. I find myself ordering considerably more than I intended. You also get good advice as to what to try from the menu. Big thumbs up to Hiba- best Leb restaurant I know in central London.

Amazing place with a friendly vibe and delicious food. The baba ghanoush was definitely the best I've ever tasted and the falafel and foul moudamas were also perfect. The customer service was great, the owner came out to chat and make recommendations and everything was served quickly. Prices are great too!

I had dinner here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The food is fantastic - especially for this price bracket! - and the service great. Hummus was amazing, and though I'm not a big dessert person usually, I LOVED the mouhallabieh. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Nice atmosphere inside the restaurant, but probably great for takeout as well. At least three people came to get takeout while I was there, and they were all served really quickly.

Not great here. Similar customer service to a bad wether spoons! I ordered a fatoush salad and my friend ordered a spicy salad- pretty much the same salad arrived (mine just had the crispy bits on...) when I ask why my fatoush has peppers in, I was told it was seasoning (about 10% of the salad was peppers!) I'm intolerant to peppers so ended up picking them all out! Although Hiba is cheap I've received much better service and received the food that I ordered in every restaurant within that price bracket. I wouldn't recommended Hiba.

New management at Hiba Express now- Great service and genuine Middle Eastern food. Some good suggested menus too. Moussaka and chickpeas with vermicelli rice was great.
