Lola Rojo

lovely food,place and service. i would go again!

Went to Lolarojo for the first time tonight, got off to a good start with good wine and some nice dishes although not many vegetarian options. The waiter knocked over a candle and glass and burnt my hand and didnt even apologise and then after two hours another waiter brought the bill. Apparently its two hour slots only, we wouldnt have minded if this had been mentioned when we booked but it wasnt and when we said this the waiter was quite rude. At £45 per head I would have expected far better service. Certainly wouldnt recomend it.

Shocked this gets such a high rating. It's OK tapas but when me and my girlfriend went we were to be honest a bit disappointed and the cost was relatively high for what was quite ordinary.

Nice and simple. Pretty good for a Spanish restaurant in London.

I went last night after wanting to go for ages and was disappointed in the food. Most of the tapas didn't taste of anything or had little flavour. Its over priced for what it is as our tapas with a bottle of wine came to £75 - for 2 people (that were still hungry at the end.) The staff were attentive though and its a great little setting and layout.

I went only one time to Lola Rojo and I think I won´t come back. I organized there a dinner with some friends, we were 9 but the table size was like 6 people, it was very uncomfortable and a little bit humiliating. The service was not friendly. The food was not bad at all but I recommend you not to eat the octopus dish! Porcions were small. The wine list looked nice but the prices were expensive (I know other spanish places were you can drink the same wine 5 to 8 pounds cheaper).

I went back to Lola Rojo about a week ago and i was quite desapointed. The quality of the food has gone down quite a lot and the service hasn't improved. It really is a shame as this place was really lovely before their TV coverage on the Gordon Ramsay's program.

Have been there yesterday with some friends. Food was simple but good, portions a bit too small in comparison to the average 8 £ per tapas which could very well be the proce for a main meal in many other restaurants around London...

I would agree with the other's comments on here, seems that since 2010 the Lola Roja management hasn't done anything about these comments. 6 of us went for dinner on a friday, just over 1 week ago. Table too small, barely enough space to hold all the food and we were way too close to the next table. Food ridiculously priced - since when does tapas cost £15 a dish? Isn't that a main meal as opposed to tapas?! Extremeley rude staff and it seems they really don't care about you once you're through the door - we went in at 7pm, ordered enough food and drinks for it to come to £240 between the 6 of us and were still finishing off a bottle of wine when at 8:55pm the waiter announced we had 5 mins to leave because our table was booked for 9pm, otherwise we'd get charged an additional £20!!! I have never experienced this before - it's friday night and people want to relax with good food, wine and company - isn't Spain all about 'slow food'?! We were completely taken aback and didn't know how to respond - in retrospect we should have called the manager to complain but it seems from other's comments that would probably have had no impact. Will never go there again - they really are nothing special and have no idea of what good customer service is.

If you want a nice relaxed meal don't go here. The food came so quickly it might as well have been a fast food restaurant, we had barely ordered when all the tapas except one dish came. then that one dish came 5 mins after we had finished the rest. It's worrying when food comes that quickly - cant be too fresh! The food is over priced and portions are small. Felt cheated having to pay at the end. There were so many waiters hovering around too and we were out in about 25 mins. I would not recomend this place. If you want proper good spanish food and a nice relaxed dining experience then don't go here!
