We had dinner here a few nights ago, and were very impressed. The serving size is generous, and the service was good without being over the top. The menu is excellent. We ordered the sea bass, fillet steak and goat's cheese bruschetta, which was very tasty. We will definitely be back to try the other meals!

Conveniently located at the heart of buzzing Crouch End, Melange offers you a truly Mediterranean experience with a menu highlighting time tested dishes from France and Italy served in one of North London’s most stylish surroundings. Inspired by rustic Italian cooking and the elegance of French cuisine, the menu features classic dishes with a twist. Dishes such as the roasted sea bass with crispy almonds and pan fried fennel and our prime British beef steaks are always a firm favourite. To compliment our high quality, fresh and locally sourced menu we have exclusive wine list featuring wines from Italy and France. For something a little more special, we have an irresistible collection of champagne cocktails, including creations like Paris Lady made with cherry liqueur, fresh thyme and Champagne. While in the evening candlelight and music from the 1920s suggest a romantic yet social and friendly atmosphere, by day Melange is a cozy and fun place for breakfast, brunch and lunch.

The place has a lovely decor and friendly staff. However both times I went the food was bad:( Crouch End is full of packed restaurants and this place seems always empty.
High-quality food, well-presented, well-served and at a reasonable price. There were a number of tempting seafood items on the menu but, as it was my first time, I chose the 10Oz Sirloin with Bernaise sauce to see how well they managed "The Classics". The (30-Day dry-aged) steak itself was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. Good fries and a rocket salad all served on a little wooden board. Simple but well-executed. My three children all enjoyed their kids-portions which were good value but did not resort to the usual Kid's staples of Sausages or Fish Fingers. The restaurant also has a small but pleasant play area which my 11-Month year old loved. Overall the vibe was one of proper adult dining but with just enough concessions to the kids to make a family meal enjoyable (something of a necessity to survive in Crouch End). Service was efficient and friendly without the clumsy interruptions to enquire as whether our meal was up to scratch that are often experienced elsewhere. Very refreshing. The current location occupied by Melange had almost seemed cursed; with at least three other restaurants opening and closing within as many years. Thankfully it looks like they may well buck the trend and thrive due to attention to detail and good pricing.
