Venue says: "Indulge in a festive art afternoon tea created by executive pastry chef, Mark Perkins. From November 28, from £55 per person."

A grand all-day dining room with what looks like a very high-spec finish, Mirror Room is located inside the Rosewood London – a five-star hotel on High Holborn. The kitchen is overseen by Amandine Chaignot, who has worked with the likes of Alain Ducasse and Jean-Francois Piège.

Dishes on the all-day dining menu include steak-frites, smoked duck tagliatelle and pan-seared Cornish cod with baby vegetables, coriander, ginger and lemongrass alongside seared tuna salads, club sandwiches, smoked salmon tartine and a green risotto with watercress coulis, broccolini, peas, asparagus, fresh herbs and parmesan.

The drinks list includes a wide range of white, green and black teas, as well as Champagne cocktails and wines by the glass – including prestige bottles served from the Coravin.

Mirror Room says
The exquisitely designed and intimate Mirror Room is a jewel box of a dining room. Floor-to-ceiling decorative mirrors, low-lighting and lounge-style seating all set the scene for a relaxed and social dining experience.

With an elegant all-day dining menu, start the day with an a la carte breakfast, including continental, healthy and traditional English breakfast choices.

In the early afternoons, the Mirror Room becomes a British institution, serving afternoon tea with a twist. Inspired by London's vibrant art scene, our art-inspired afternoon tea includes a selection of mouthwatering finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and loose-leaf teas accompanied by art-inspired pastries, created by executive pastry chef, Mark Perkins.

Looking for a different kind of high tea isn't that hard in London, each place puts their own spin on it, and makes it their own. And the Mirror Room at the Rosewood Hotel is no different. The current cakes are literally works of art, decadent and artistically beautiful, inspired by different artists, Yayoi Kusama, Damien Hirst, Alexander Calder, Banksy and Mark Rothko (Kusama being my favourite dessert). Nibbling at the cakes, while sitting in a bejewelled mirror room takes you to another level. For a solid price, great service and refillable everything, this comes highly recommended.
