Obica Mozzarella Bar

This Charlotte Street mozzarella bar is one of four London branches of a worldwide chain boasting outposts in Japan, Dubai, the USA and, of course, Italy. The southern-Italian cheese plays a lead role here, though Italian small plates, pizzas, pasta, salads and soups also feature.

Bf and I had booked a table for 6.30 after work on a Friday however had sat down outside a different restaurant for a drink beforehand and we both decided we weren't peckish enough to eat at 6.30 so ran over and pushed or booking back to 7 which was no problem with them

We arrived and for a Friday it was still very quiet. The decor is simple and along with the lack of guests caused a lack of atmosphere but the waiters were friendly
Although the mains looked delicious (both on menu and at other tables) we decided to go for a sharing platter for 2 at £28, a pizzette and a carafe of wine.
The sharing platter had smoked mozzarella, burrata, spinach and fresh tom salad, homemade pestos, aubergine salad and 3 different meats. It was huge and completely filled us up (which was a shame as I was dying to try their delicious sounding desserts).
Highly recommend this place if you fancy some authentic Italian food however in total it came to £60 which I think is a bit steep for a main and drink for two!

Good selection of high quality pastas, including a few slightly less ordinary choices, which is always nice. Not sure it should be labelled as a mozzarella. It has a few varieties of the cheese but it essentially a normal Italian restaurant. I have not tried the pizza so cannot comment on this

Was able to get a  last-minute table for 6 on a Saturday evening, so a good place to consider at last-minute in the otherwise crazily busy Soho dining scene

Delectable Italian cuisine in a fairly relaxed setting. The mozzarella is definitely worth trying and sharing with friends - stracciatella di burrata was a creamy favourite. We all had a pasta dish - my parmigiana di melanzane was a cheesy, vegetarian delight. Will be keen to try one of their other branches!

Yum, yum, yum. Wonderful food, friendly staff - all Obika's are worth a trip but this one is particularly good

I went here the other night with my husband for dinner and it was fantastic. the service was great and the food was excellent. The only thing lacking was other diners - it was quite full upstairs so we were put downstairs on our own. Maybe it's worth dining a little later to ensure the atmosphere is good.

what a lovely, laid back bar. Perfect for a girlie night out. Ambient lighting and music. Food and cocktails excellent with unobtrusive but excellent service too. Get there before it gets too popular!
