Despite being located in the heart of Sloane Square, you will be pleasantly surprised by the abundance of free evening parking and sensible pricing! At the same time, Obicà doesn't scrimp on quality or service. The truffle mozzarella was some of the best I have ever tasted - I am still mentally savouring bursting it's rubbery shell to reveal liquid innards that are scooped onto toasted focaccia, drowned in balsamic and olive oil. The staff were more than happy to accommodate any menu changes, removing the fizz from my mocktail and adding tomato sauce to my truffle-cheese chicken without so much as batting an eyelid. I also highly recommend the ricotta and strawberry cheesecake.

The evening can be anything from a 3 course meal to just drinks and sharing plates or a couple of balls of handmade cheese.

The area is also great for post-dinner cocktails as Walton street is just around the corner. Possibly my new favourite place!

What an utter disappointment!

I have been to the Obica in Charlotte Street before and although I thought it pricey with small portion sizes, I was impressed with the quality of the ingredients and deemed it a tasty Italian.

When we saw their South Ken branch was on uber eats we immediately picked this over the other pizza places in our area for our Friday night takeaway.

The choice is quite good on the app however again the prices stunned me! Up to £17 for a pizza - eeeesh! In the end we went for:

Antipasto Obicà - Board with Prosciutto Crudo di Parma, Casatica di Bufala Cheese,

Salame Felino, Grilled Artichokes, Black Olives, Mozzarella and Peppers Bruschetta,

Tomato Bruschetta - £9

Nduja e Burrata Pizza - Spicy Sausage Spread, Burrata, Organic Tomato, Basil - £14

Caponata alla Siciliana - Sicilian Aubergine Casserole - £6

Truffle burrata - £11

Once our order had been prepared the delivery didn't take long however everything arrived stone cold. Granted the antipasto and burrata were meant to be cold but the pizza? I also have an inkling the aubergines were meant to be hot as they were luke warm however I could be wrong. 

As well as the temperature issue the portions were tiny! The burrata and the antipasto were so small and the pizza wasn't much better. If that wasn't enough the flavours and quality of the food was very poor. The cheese in the antipasto was bland and the vegetables were nearly non-existent. The nduja was spicy but not much else, the pizza base was soggy, there was barely any cheese on the pizza. The burrata didn't taste of truffle at all. The list goes on!

I have since contacted Obica to ask them why they take part in delivery if they can't deliver a good product with no response - customer service is terrible as well!

Overall I would beg people not to waste their time getting food delivered from Obica and will not be going back to any of their restaurants again either.

Love this place. It's a really good choice for somewhere well priced in the notoriously expensive South Ken. The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff are friendly and the mozzarella is amazing. Forget about getting a proper main dish -- choose two or three balls of mozzarella, a number of small plates and some rosemary bread and create your own antipasti platter. There is also a good choice of reasonable wine and the mozzarella theme continues through to the desserts.
