This huge 19th-century pub (formerly called The Britannia) beside Victoria Park has a large garden (complete with busy ‘garden grill’ in summer), a main bar decorated with victoriana that serves creditable pub fare and, tucked away at the side, a full-blown dining room. More recently they've started up their very own onside microbrewery onsite.

Love this place! Plenty to do in both summer and winter, food is great and the staff are friendly. It even had a brewery on site which is amazing! (Plus they back it up with cracking beers!)
Fantastic pub that offers it all - an amazing outdoor area, their own microbrewery, informed friendly staff and a cute pub dog.
Has a lovely big garden overlooking the park which is always rammed in summer, but the interior is nice as well and the food is good.
Come for the garden, stay for the beer food. The People's Park Tavern is well known for having one of the best beer gardens in London, but the reason I go is for their own beer, which is excellent, and brewed on site. The brewer is often there and really friendly. I've eaten there a few times and each time the food has been really good. It can get busy on really sunny days, but there's always lots of staff on, who are working hard to get everyone served. There a real party vibe late on the weekend night, if that's your thing.
Sunday roast was ridiculously overpriced and not at all worth it. The beef was very fatty and the bowl it was served in made it hard to cut. There was no white meat option for one person on the menu and overall was a very disappointing experience. Also, glasses were dirty.
Came here in summer for the garden and was blown away. Great in the sunshine (it's big
and just the right amount of shade) but at night it's beautiful, lit up with little lights. I then went back last week (which is mid winter) and it's a great, warm winter pub too. We sat right by the brewery (their own ales are really good actually) which set a really nice tone. Then a friend went out for a fag and said there was a fire pit thing and the garden was covered. We got our coats and sat out there. Haven't eaten, but the food coming out looked great. Will definitely make the effort to come back, not just in summer.
Rude and aggressive staff. Cold food. Do yourself a favour and try one of the many other local pubs. They couldn't be any worse than this!
We waited more than one hour and a half for an overpriced chicken that never arrived, so we finally ended getting our money back and a few chips for our two children who were literally starving. Of course, they didn't offer voluntarily the chips, we had to beg for them! The garden is beautiful and nice, but the terrible and awful service makes it one of the worst places I've ever been in London. Never again.
Every time I've been to this pub we've enjoyed great food - including excellent vege options (once they had vege hot dogs, which were fun!) The beer garden is fantastic and they have a lot of space indoors as well. Highly recommended.
I'm surprised to read so many bad reviews. My boyfriend and I went here for sausage & mash just before Xmas they do an offer of 2 for £9.95 (I think it's every Thursday) the food was good, bacon and maple sausages were really tasty and overall service was good and staff friendly. Seems like a wicked place in the summer too!
Rude service at the bar - which takes for ever. One nice guy works there and thats it. Food is pretty much awful. I like the garden if I am with the dog and kids have enough space to run around - the only reason I dont give this one star. Sometimes serve some decent local beers .
very poor. the place was empty, yet food took an hour to arrive. Burger was dry, bun was stale, and the chips were rock hard. wont be returning
OK not the best Sunday roast in the world but great to have a place where I can take dog and kids after walk in the park and dont get the skunk eye from the staff. Good local ales - kept pretty well too
Its a lovely pub, and I always enjoy a drink there. But I've tried to eat there three times, each worse than the previous one. The last time I was there the food was so poor the manager just handed back our money and apologised. A shame.
