Fish and seafood plays a lead role at this family-run Italian on Charlotte Street. It's one of two Pescatoris in London - there's another over in Mayfair, too.
The menu certainly reads like an authentic slice of coastal Italian cuisine. Dishes range from fritto misto and bruschetta di granchio to yellow fin tuna carpaccio with tempura oyster, oven-baked sea bream with rosemary, Amalfi lemon and garlic, and tagliatelle con bolognese di mare - a pasta dish made with a ragu of smoked haddock and cod with carrots, onions, white wine and thyme.
It's not all fish and seafood though. Dishes with a foot on terra firma include wild mushroom risotto with parmesan, a roast rack of Cumbrian lamb with a pistachio crust, and filetto di maiale - Tamworth pork fillet wrapped in a pancetta and sage, served with pumpkin purée, cannellini beans, wine and a balsamic jus.
