A café, shop and studio where children are invited to paint their own pottery. Presumably while parents relax over a cup of tea.

The Pottery Cafe in Parsons Green does what it says on the tin. When the unshakeable desire to paint some pottery overcomes you, it's the perfect place to go in London. It's tucked away in the West near Parsons Green, but it's well worth the journey on the district line. You can book in advance, but you may not need to - I'd suggest calling ahead to see whether you're planning to visit at a busy time. There are plenty of pots, cups, cases, money boxes etc available, so you can follow your creative urges. We painted some giant tea cups and they're perfect for when a mug just isn't big enough! There are plenty of drinks and cakes on offer, alongside a little shop selling children's gifts. It could get pricey if you bring the kids (at any pottery cafe they're likely to move from one expensive item to the next in rapid succession) but as an adults-only trip it's quite a reasonable way to while away a few hours in joyful creativity!
