This Michelin-starred Indian restaurant on Sloane Square is headed up by Vineet Bhatia - one of the guys behind the launches of The Cinnamon Club nearby and Zaika, over in Chelsea. Bhatia opened Rasoi in 2004 and earned a Michelin star two years later - an award still pinned to Rasoi's attractive lapel to this day.
Much of Rasoi's success comes from its modern-Indian cooking. Expect dishes such as toasted sesame ginger cod with spring onion khichdi, fennel pollen ice cream and a cashew nut salsa, or Goan-style braised lamb shank with coriander butter rice, carrot mash and spinach-potato coins. All very fancy.
Two tasting menus (one of which is vegetarian) offer an insight into the kind of food on offer but there are a la carte options as well as set lunch menus, too. The wine list is extensive.
