Refuel

This bar and restaurant is set within the swanky Soho Hotel, tucked away in Richmond Mews. Creative cocktails do brisk business, but it's the dining opportunities that perhaps prove more of a draw these days, with breakfasts, brunches, afternoon teas and a la carte meals doing as much of a trade as the libations.

There's a modern-European feel to that a la carte menu, with dishes including a goat's cheese and caramelised onion pastry served with a pear and walnut salad, a crispy ham hock fritter with apple, radish and Pommery mustard mayo, and a fillet of salmon pan-fried and served with samphire, piquillo peppers and basil oil. Char-grilled tuna with a sauce vierge proves popular, too. 

The drinks list includes various bar bites, including mezze platters, small plates and pizzas. They're served alongside a cocktail list ranging from bellinis, martinis and caipirinhas to signature cocktails from bars from across the Firmdale Hotels group - of which Refuel is one. Expect a long wine list focusing on the old world, too.
