Surprisingly good - attended unenthusiastically after the Evening Standard review and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Not your typical kosher restaurant.

Emmett

Kosher food but not like I was expecting it. In a very positive way... Fine dining, well executed and perfect service. Definitely will be back.

Lunch at 1701 was a truly enjoyable experience, from the pleasant greeting I received upon arriving to the delicious and beautifully presented plates of food. Not to mention the magnificently unique location, 1701 has managed to perfectly compliment the classic nature of the Bevis Marks Synagogue with a modern minimalist fine dining interior. Finally, I can honestly say without a shadow of doubt that my main course of Choucroute Garnie (Corned beef, shin and veal and apple sausage) was one of the best dishes I've ever experienced, in both taste and presentation. I'd thoroughly recommend paying a visit, you won't be disappointed.
