  • Went there for a special occasion and was extremely disappointed. Sunday roast was comparable to a low end pub. Dinner was cold, potatoes rock hard .. I think they had been cooked the day prior and reheated or were from frozen..carrots and curly kale was over-salted and cold, Yorkshire puddings were rock hard and probably from Adsa or Morrison frozen food section. Gravy was the only thing that was warm. No drinks were consumed and this was a total bill of £50.00 for two. Stick to spending your money on a tour, as the dining experience was just NOT worth it, sadly.

  • Some of the food was great and the location is lovely. However... we were told potatoes were included in our main course and they didn't arrive. When chased, they eventually appeared after we had finished our main courses and were hard and inedible. Apparently they were not meant to be included in the main, hence the confusion. When it came to paying the bill, they told us that we had not been charged for the potatoes .... not a great compensation for something that we had been told was included, came late and was inedible. We did get free coffee. Has got potential but doesn't seem to quite deliver. This is the second time we have had a similar experience.

  • Just went for Mothers day; it was great, the restaurant is a lovely calming environment. Bellinis and appetisers were on the table as soon as we sat down. The food was interesting, plentiful and tasty. Service was good but unobtrusive. Highly recommended.

  • My family and I went on Sunday and it was one of the best lunchs I have ever had. The staff were wonderful, the food was delicious and the Crypts provided a beautiful setting. I would definitely go back again.

  • After having afternoon tea with a group of friends. We where all very let down by the quality of there scones. They where very hard on the outside and the middle in some where partly raw. I found that my clotted cream was more like whipped cream and really was not thick enough. The rest of the afternoon tea was great and the staff could not be more helpful. However as I only order tea & scones to have only tea that was OK is a big let down. I would not go back again I'm afraid
