Only 12 people can squeeze into this tiny Korean café on busy New Malden High Street, but locals drift in all day for authentic Korean food served in double-quick time. Don't be put off by the Lilliputian dimensions of the dining room; the menu runs for pages and pages, with all the expected barbecues, hot-pots and stir-fries. Dishes are divided into plate meals (with rice or noodles) and main courses, which are normally big enough to share. Spicy fried chicken on rice melted in the mouth; it came with a thick, chilli-speckled sauce full of broccoli and beansprouts. In all, Hamgipak is best suited for a lunchtime snack rather than a slap-up dinner.
