London's best review, food and drink news
Every home should have a Domali to hand. Wide-ranging (and, where possible, free range, fair trade and veggie) fare from breakfast to boozer closing time nourishes all-comers: giggling newly-mets in need of a morning-after fry-up; lunchbreakers laying into the great-value weekday fish or veggie specials; pram-pushing parents after a comforting mid-afternoon brie BLT; and post-work locals in for happy-hour cocktails in the rectangle of paved back garden. Olive oil is drizzled, salad leaves are mixed, thick salmon and peppers are impeccably chargrilled care and detail abound. An indie jangle at conversational volume spreads around the simple, wooden room brightened by Dave Bailey's nudes and muso portraits. Seriously recommended.
