• HK Diner

    Budget choice
  • Wardour Streets HK Diner is the current late-night venue of choice for young Chinese Londoners. Its catch-all menu helps, though most soup noodle dishes are on the untranslated list; non-Chinese readers should flip this over (ignore the menu of bland stir-fries youll be given on arrival) to find an enticing choice of specials: for example, chitterling with preserved cabbage; a huge helping of tender beef brisket in profoundly pleasing gravy; deep-fried oysters (17 of them); and a superb selection of seasonal veg. Staff are bright and breezy, the restaurant design is bright and minimalist, and bright Hong Kong pop provides the soundtrack.
