It’s clear that the more recent Turkish owners of Faulkners are attempting to appeal to old-school East Enders – this chippie’s original patrons – rather than the area’s newer, more youthful middle-class. Decorations consist of net curtains, photos of London past, a fish tank, a flat-screen TV and white linen tablecloths (with fake tulips upon them). The brightly lit space contained just two or three couples on the evening we visited. This was unsurprising; the atmosphere is a bit incongruous for fish’n’chips, with formal service and a rather tired vibe. On the plus side, our huge portion of haddock was bright white, perfectly flaky and covered with crisp, tasty batter. Less impressive were the soft, pale, thick-cut chips, while the mushy peas were flavoursome yet alarmingly bright-green. If you’ve room for more and like traditional English desserts, scan the pudding menu.

Great fish and chips, lovely services and friendly staff. 10 out of 10 from me.
ive been going to this fish and chips shop since i was a kid, they always have the best fish and chips even got the award for the best in 2008, which is plastered all over the wall. walkers crisps advertised the fish and chips flavour in this shop, i was told by the lady at the counter. That proves my point that all those comments aint true. I love their food im sure you will to.
I love their chips!
I agree - the chips are a definite letdown.
Can't vouch for the restaurant, but in all honesty the chips from the take-away were a terrible let down, greasy, not even piping hot, lots of burny bits. They get a booooooooooooooo from me.
