This Mayfair branch of a famously sophisticated seven-year-old chain is a treat. Its oddly reminiscent of a convent dining room, with dark oak panelling and votive candles, but that image might have been prompted by our sitting next to the massive oil painting of tonsured monks enjoying a pasta dinner. The atmosphere is classy, and the menu surprisingly good value for such a swish location. Tables are sensitively spaced, so couples trysting and business people brainstorming can relax a bit. Its location amid various top-end hotels makes it popular with wealthy American families too. Food is high quality, with some tempting flame-roasted chicken dishes for dough-avoiders, although our stale ice-cream let the side down.

Intriguing and relaxed, I am happy with my life and would like to make it even better by meeting new friends and, maybe, someone special. I love...
The ambience is attractive. However, the chicken in both pasta and risotto dishes was overdone- very dry. Rice in risotto was overcooked. Prices are very reasonable- too bad the food is not of a higher standard.
