Four smiling chefs working behind the counter set the friendly tone at this impressive address. The interior is small and basic, the emphasis here being on dishing out great sushi in double-quick time. Indeed, our line-up of hot miso soup, steaming and salty edamame beans and wonderfully misshapen and undeniably fresh tuna and avocado Californian rolls took only 40 minutes from putting in our order to empty plates. To follow, we shared a bowl containing two enormous and juicy tempura prawns atop a tangle of buckwheat noodles in a warming, sweet-spicy broth. A blackboard lists daily specials (sea bass on our visit). Around us, the tables quickly filled up with West Hampstead’s sushi lovers enjoying affordable, quality creations.
