This top-notch Fitzrovia hangout (previously called Tapped & Packed) remains a coffee-lover’s haven, whether you want espresso-based drinks (Simonelli machine), or brewed coffees made in a drip cone or the increasingly popular Aeropress. Beans are sourced from several roasters including Has Bean and Square Mile.
When we went, the Aeropress specialist was not around. We contented ourselves with a drip Nicaraguan, the drip unrushed and the beans excellent (single-origin, as were both the other filter choices). Sandwiches and baked goods are all made on the premises and reasonably priced.
The decor is plain and attractive: dark wood in the benches, tables and flooring contrasting with the magnolia-hued paint on the walls (which would benefit from a fresh coat). Beans and coffee hardware are sold to take away, and service comes with a big smile and willingness to talk. All in all, we love this place.
