This place was great when it was owned by the guys who set it up - they were responsible for some great pubs across west London. Sadly, it seems they have sold them to a big brewery chain which explains why it's lost its way. Nice place for a pint and a burger though.

we arrived mid afternoon on a busy day. 3 staff walked passed us without acknowledging us while we waited to be seated at a table. The service throughout the meal was mediocre and the staff were quite disinterested. When we asked if we could move into the sun for desert, they were unhelpful. We all ordered roasts. Which for the price were disappointing. I have certainly tasted better. I cannot believe this pub rates in the top 10 waterside pubs in London. I certainly won't be going back.

My family and I went today to try this pub for Sunday lunch.we didn't have a reservation. They gave us a table in the back patio as we requested even though they were quite busy.. The staff was very welcoming. Our waitress was new and didn't know what comes with the roast. she kept having to ask someone else. All 4 of us chose Sunday roast beef. No starters. The food took a long time to come. My food was cold, really cold. So I told the waitress and she offered to Chang my plate. The rest of my family were really hungry and didn't want to wait longer for another plate. But their food was cold also. The roast beef was not bad but I've had much better ones. Then it started to rain so we asked to be moved in for desert. Since we did not have a reservation we were told that we will not be given priority for a table. But in fact they did find us a table and accommodated us nicely. Th staff may not all be very professional but they were all nice, The sticky toffee was great. In general it was a pleasant experience and I would repeat it although it was not the best of everything.

Out of date review. The restaurant side of this business suffers from staff who are not trained, food cooked poorly and a distinct sense of resting on its laurels thanks to location. Fine for a burger off the bbq and a few drinks but a waste of money to eat from the more expensive restaurant menu. Reviews seem consistently bad on here and on Trip Advisor...Time Out needs to update more frequently as 'best of' lists are not what they used to be.

S not happy

Very very bad reservation system! Totally unfaithful I have called 3 times to book a table, they've told me they would call me back 3 times as it was too early to book and then because the manager was just back from holiday At the 4th time, they just told me there was no place left!!!!!

Great Pub, Great Sunday Roast, Great Barbecue!! Sun downer in the beer garden is a must on a sunny day!!

Dined at The Crabtree last night. Food is definitely overpriced for both quality and quantity! Staff are slow, unhelpful and rude. The location on the other hand is great. It's a pity it's managed in such a way...
