There's a Southern feel to this soul food spot at the Rising Sun pub on Carter Lane. Keep an eye out for the sign, and then follow your nose.
Starters include dishes such as buffalo wings, Southern fried buttermilk chicken tenders and deep-fried pickles. Main courses feature a house burger, chilli braised short rib, Southern fried chicken with waffles and a San Francisco seafood cioppino – an Italian-style seafood stew with tomato and fennel.
Desserts are all-American classics, such as Key lime pie, waffles and an Oreo cheesecake. Cocktails, craft beer and a deent looking wine list also feature.
